Cageball - Mini Football Field Construction

What is Cageball?

Cageball, as one of the mini versions of football, is typically played in smaller areas surrounded by fences. This game format offers football enthusiasts a high-paced, exciting experience in limited spaces. Cageball is also known as "Cage Football" because the playing area is usually surrounded by metal fences or wire cages. These fences prevent the ball from going outside, ensuring the game flows continuously.

Cageball fields can serve as training grounds for professional football players or provide a fun playing space for amateur players. Additionally, these fields typically take up less space and can be easily set up in various locations, making them especially popular in city centers.

Cageball Features

The most prominent feature of Cageball fields is the fast and dynamic football experience that can be played in smaller spaces. However, the characteristics of these fields are not only limited to their size but also offer several other notable features:

• High-Paced Game in Small Areas: Cageball brings the speed and energy of football to a smaller area. Players are constantly moving, and the ball is almost always at foot level, which keeps the game’s pace uninterrupted.
• Fenced Areas: One of the key features of Cageball fields is the fences surrounding the area. These fences prevent the ball from leaving the playing field, thus avoiding ball loss and speeding up the game flow.
• Various Game Modes: On a Cageball field, players can engage in single or team matches. Games can be organized with different team sizes, such as 3v3 or 5v5, creating an environment suitable for players of various skill levels.
• Improved Football Skills: Playing in smaller spaces allows players to develop their speed, agility, ball control, and passing skills. As a result, Cageball is often preferred as a training field for football players.

Cageball Field Dimensions

Cageball fields are much smaller and more compact compared to traditional football fields, and although there is no strict standard, their size can vary depending on the purpose of the playing area and the available space. However, here is a general guide to the ideal sizes of Cageball fields:

Standard Cageball (Cage Football) Dimensions:

• Length: 12-20 meters
• Width: 6-12 meters

These dimensions provide enough space for players to move while allowing for high-paced games. These fields can be set up in urban areas, schools, or next to sports halls.

Mini Football Field Dimensions:

• Length: 10-15 meters
• Width: 5-9 meters

Mini football fields are designed for smaller spaces, offering areas where small teams, such as 3v3 or 5v5, can play. These dimensions are ideal for fewer players and a faster style of play.

Choosing Dimensions

The size of Cageball fields may vary depending on the available space and the type of game being played. Fields used in smaller areas generally have shorter lengths and widths, while slightly larger areas may be preferred for professional use.

Cageball Construction Stages

The construction process of a Cageball field requires careful planning and the use of quality materials. As Avengrass, we meticulously work through each stage to build high-quality mini football fields. Here are the basic stages of Cageball field construction:

• Site Selection and Design: The first step is to select the most suitable site for the field. The area must be flat and free of obstacles. The size of the field and the features of the surrounding structures are also considered during the design phase. The ideal area for mini football fields is typically around 10x20 meters.
• Ground Preparation: The ground is a crucial element for mini football fields. A good surface directly affects the safety of the players and the quality of the game. The ground is usually covered with durable materials such as grass, artificial grass, or rubber. As Avengrass, we offer environmentally friendly and durable artificial grass and hybrid grass solutions.
• Fencing and Cage System Installation: The fence or cage systems around the Cageball field prevent the ball from leaving the field and ensure the continuous flow of the game. These systems are generally made of galvanized steel and are securely closed on both sides. It is important that these fences are durable and aesthetic.
• Lighting and Other Infrastructure Works: Lighting systems are installed for games to be played in the evening. This ensures a safe playing environment. Additionally, infrastructure works such as ensuring security around the field and installing drainage systems are also completed.
• Final Checks and Game Preparation: In the final stage, the integrity and functionality of all structures are checked. The surface is checked for smoothness, the fences are properly placed, and the lighting systems are tested. Once all these processes are completed, the field is ready for use.

Equipment Used in Cageball Fields

The equipment used on Cageball fields carries the basic elements of football but is customized for play in smaller spaces. Here are the main pieces of equipment used on these fields:

• Cage or Fence Systems: The cages, a key feature of Cageball fields, are used to ensure player safety and prevent the ball from going outside. These cages are made of metal fences and are typically over 3 meters high.
• Lighting: Adequate lighting is necessary for evening games. This enhances security and ensures that the matches can be played more efficiently.
• Surface Materials: The surface of Cageball fields is typically covered with synthetic grass or rubber materials. These materials allow players to move freely and ensure the surface’s durability.
• Goals and Goalkeeper Equipment: The goals used on mini football fields are smaller than those in traditional football. Goalkeepers also require appropriate gloves and protective equipment.
