How to Install an Artificial Grass Shock Pad?
Installing the artificial turf shock pad is much easier than most people think. Actually, we can summarize the process in a few simple steps:
- Start by rolling the artificial turf shock pad, one row at a time, perpendicular to the direction in which the flooring will be laid.
- Tape or glue rows at connecting seams. Some artificial turf shock pads come with an adhesive strip.
- Do not overlap artificial turf shock pads unless recommended by the manufacturer.
That’s it! With a few tools and some effort, your artificial turf shock pad is ready to use. Of course, it’s always good to check with a leading shock pad manufacturer to see if there are more specific aspects to your product.
What is the Best Underlay for Artificial Turf?
For artificial turf carpets, you will almost always use rubber or foam shock pads. These pads come in many different thickness options, ranging in features and pricing. Your floor will (typically) become softer and more comfortable to walk on with thicker pads. We recommend using a foam carpet pad for wide bench carpet and rubber for carpet tile. Pay attention to the characteristics of the carpet pad you are looking at, not just the price and thickness. While you can find thicker options at lower price points, they don’t do everything you want them to do (like absorb sound), or at least may not do them very well. Be sure to check out these features!
